THANKS TO YOUR CONTRIBUTION WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TURN BLACK FRIDAY INTO A SUSTAINABLE GREEN FRIDAY!
Most of us know the huge impact of Black Friday (or black week).
Why here at SEAY, thanks to our The Oceancy friends and the contribution of our customers, we have been able to turn the 2022 Black Friday into a real sustainable Green Friday?
Because from November 25th to 27th we offered all of you the possibility of entrusting The Oceancy with the planting of a mangrove. For each mangrove adopted, we adopted one too, doubling the planting!
Mangrove forests are a very important coastal ecosystem as they are rich in biodiversity, they are essential for the livelihood of local communities, they also absorb large quantities of CO2 and therefore they mitigate the effects of climate change (including the impact of Black Friday!)
The Oceancy is an NGO made up of a group of young PhD students, engineers, marine biologists; a recognized partner of 1% for the Planet and 10% for the Ocean born with the aim of carrying out scientific research, education and, above all, reforestation!
The very good news is that, thanks to the precious support of our customers, we have contributed to the planting of 50 mangroves for the reforestation of the Dar Es Salaam mangrove-land in Tanzania (GPS coordinates: 6°41’27” S 39°12’52” E). A small green lung capable of offsetting 615 kg of CO2 per year… a result to be really proud of!
Why did we particularly like this Green Friday?
Because we have been able to demonstrate that it is possible to offer a sustainable product while helping to mitigate the effects of climate change… simply transforming slogans into concrete actions.
