IT HAPPENED THAT, SCROLLING FEEDS ON INSTAGRAM, WE CAME ACROSS A MAGNIFICENT COMMUNITY OF KITERS. AS OFTEN HAPPENS, OUR EYES WERE CATCHED BY THE BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS OF THE PAGE BUT THEN, INTRIGUED BY THE QUALITY OF THE CONTENT, WE FOUND MORE.
It was reading their 5 good reasons to remain kiters for life – a beautiful post on their website – that we convinced ourself that proposing a collab to the Kite Girls Italia team it could have been an excellent idea.
I guess you’re wondering what these 5 good reasons are (well, if you haven’t… you get them anyway):
1. Finding yourself (practicing a sport like this means dig into yourself, opening your heart to nature and the sea, acquiring a totally different vision of life)
2. Friendship and sense of freedom (Kiters in general are people who love life, pursue freedom and challenge their own limits. Whatever their approach is, I have never seen a rider come out of the water sad or thoughtful. The best cure for the problems of modern life therefore seems to be the combination of sun-sea-friends and the scent of freedom)
3. «Girlpower» effect (kite surf is a sport where there is no need to have great physical strength and not even be a perfect swimmer. You can learn in complete safety with a good instructor on ideal conditions of flat water and light wind)
4. Well-being and self-esteem (being a kiter means living life with more spontaneity; you have the opportunity to be yourself and be beautiful and feminine even without makeup or dressing up. It is the proof that you can also live well in swimsuit and flip-flops)
5. Travel and adventure (those who practice this sport feel part of a group of people who live in harmony with the elements of nature, a community united by the same desire to travel around the world with their own kite having fun together)
SINCE A WHILE HERE AT SEAY WE HAD BEEN PLANNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORE TECHNICAL PRODUCTS, ABLE TO COMBINE FABRICS AND TRIMS WITH A REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT (SUSTAINABLE AS SOME WOULD SAY) AND AN HIGH LEVEL OF TECHNICALITY NECESSARY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO TRANSFORM THE ELEMENTS OF NATURE IN SPORT, ENTERTAINMENT AND, WHY NOT, IN LIFESTYLE.
Considering it takes two flints to make a fire, we thought that it would have being perfect to work on a common project with Floriana and Daniela and the whole Kite Girls Italia team. Kiters in love with life and a sustainable sportswear brand, a perfect combination!
Among the products we were thinking about, there was a long-sleeved bodysuit, able to protect the skin of our kiters from the fury of the elements, and a wetsuit that should have been as much sustainable as possible without sacrificing the high level of technicality that we were looking for.

Three months of in-water-tests with sessions in Sicily, in Garda Lake and in Baja California allowed us to develop two products that have nothing to envy to the technicality of the most famous brands, an aesthetic in pure SEAY style.

Ariel is a long sleeve surfsuit made using 85% SEAQUAL® post-consumer recycled yarn that comes from post-consumer and upcycled marine plastic and 15% elastane. An high performance stretch and recycled fabric, ultra soft and resistant to chlorine, salty water and sunscreen. Hyper fast drying and a record elasticity that ensure unparalleled wearability and comfort. Characterized by a tight fit and an UV protection that ensures UPF 50+ sun protection.
Alana is a springsuit perfect for water temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees. Made in Yulex®, a natural rubber from FSC®-certified forests that allows to create products in an environmentally and socially responsible manner without harmful allergens and contaminants. Yulex® is an high performance plant-based material that guarantees high technical performance, made in a renewable natural rubber tapped from hevea trees that absorbs carbon throughout their life span. A natural rubber that allows to create products – as our Alana springsuit – in an environmentally and socially responsible manner . Two more good news? Only 4% of global rubber plantation area is currently FSC®-certified while Yulex® is produced using natural rubber from sources that are FSC® certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Co2 emissions are reduced by 80% compared to the use of traditional neoprene. A sustainable garment where no detail has been left out and where even the labels are made of recycled silicone.
